TESTIMONIALS

  • "It sure beats maybe breaking your ankles from coming in a hard landing, or turtling over, if you are backpacking--with wheels you would be rolling. Rolling takeoffs make it quicker to get into the air. It’s just a lot more stable, and a lot safer."

  • "Are you having trouble foot launching? After numerous attempts at foot launching, mostly failures for various reasons, I got a Paratrike. It made the difference for me. Having over 60 hours of flight time since adding the trike, I have a near 100% success rate of takeoffs. I also have perfect landings, at up to 30 miles per hour. I would definitely recommend the Paratrike."

  • "I think its great! When foot launching I broke five (5) props and had about 50 abortions. Once I started using the Paratrike I never broke another prop, there was never a day I didn’t get off the ground, it is just the only way to go. It’s a lot safer too! You are not landing on your feet; the wheels are taking all the impact. Again, it’s the only way to go!"

  • "Paratrike is better than foot launching because it’s a lot less wear and tear, potential danger on your body, especially when you are dealing with a heavy motor. It’s too easy to fall or trip. Especially for someone who has bad knees. Running with an 80-lb. motor is absurd. You’ve got to run at 15 miles an hour to create lift, with an 80 lb. weight on your back, to just get off the ground. And then landing! Landing on rough terrain is real dangerous with a heavy motor. If you do come down hard, it is way safer to come down hard on a trike, if you mess up a landing. I think it is also a lot easier in no wind situations to launch a trike than foot launch because that’s the problem we have foot launching. You have to get the 15-MPH airspeed, there is no wind coming at you so you have to run the 15 MPH, and that is tough with a motor and no wind. It is much easier in no wind to launch a trike."

  •  "I really like it; in fact I was flying it all weekend. It has made a 100% difference in my flying. I’ve been flying since 1979 and about 10 months ago I broke my back. My flying had been restricted to just paragliding and not motoring because I couldn’t pick it up. Since I got the trike it has been no big deal, you just sit down, hit the gas, and go. It is a nice light unit, it responds really well. Having a trike underneath you, you have a place to put your feet so your legs don’t hurt, you don’t have to run so you don’t scrap your knees when you take off, you can land down wind so you are not going to wipe out when you land, and it is easy to launch in wind. It is a total winner. There may be a better one but I don’t know about it."

  • "I have been foot launching for a couple of years. I have spent a lot of money getting a light weight, three cylinder German motor in order to give me enough horsepower to enjoy flying, but maintain the light foot launching appeal. When that motor broke and I shipped it to Germany for repairs, I decided to buy a backup unit. It was far too heavy. But, when I put the Paratrike Wheels on it, it became a dream machine. The stresses of launching were eliminated. I now have trained by girlfriend to fly and she exclusively flies the Paratrike. She has 100% perfect takeoffs and landings, first try; every try and it would not be possible for her to fly without the Paratrike Wheels. I highly recommend them!"

  • "In the summer of 1996 I got the trike wheels and began having a much better experience. I have become an advocate of using the wheels to reduce the effort required to launch. I have had no problems adding instruments, strobe lights, and even carrying things like footballs, cameras, etc. I can also advocate your "line avers". I find it much easier to prepare for launches using them."

  • A Personal Story

We know you share a love for the skies. We also know that you may fly currently. If you do or if you don't the information described here will help make your flying easier and more enjoyable.

Last year I tore a tendon in my finger and was grounded for 2 months. Understandably, lifting motors, inflating wings and carrying things would further damage my finger. I decided to buy wheels for my LaMouette ($995.00 plus shipping-ugh!) so I could still fly and wow…what a difference! Flying suddenly became a simple task the way it was meant to be instead of a job. My foot launch friends averaged 1 out of 3 successful take-offs and worse on no-wind days. My take-off average is 79 out of 80 tries! I am the first one up and the last one down virtually every time.

Take offs became a breeze, especially in no wind and the landing worries we all feel a little, were eliminated. I now land downwind at 25-35 MPH sometimes just because it is more thrilling! My climb rate has doubled because I am using the proper sized wing and not the small one that came from the dealer (see larger wings below). It's more comfortable, I can carry more gas and the safety is dramatically increased too, because the sink rate doubles.
